“I am proud to be elected to the Roasters Guild Executive Council. After serving a short vacated seat term on the RGEC, I quickly realized the hard work and the importance of the Council. The RGEC leads the roasting community in current trends and direction of the industry, provides excellent training opportunities at national and regional events and executes the most important roasting event of the year - the Roasters Guild Retreat.
I sincerely look forward to the challenge of serving my industry peers and colleagues. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.”

Brett Struwe,
Caribou Coffee
Company

“I am excited to serve another two years on the RGEC for one major reason:  Growth.  The specialty industry continues to recognize an unprecedented rate of growth and my experience at Caribou can be an asset to the guild for this reason.  Caribou has grown from a small, multi-unit coffeehouse chain to a $250M annual revenue coffee company during my 15-year tenure.  Caribou has been the beneficiary of an expanding market, and the SCAA has a lot to do with it.  Giving back is a huge opportunity, but so is participating in an association that still has so much upside.  In a recent Consumer Reports magazine Caribou was ranked among other specialty brands and a price-per-cup was listed in one of the columns.  At an average of $0.25 - $0.50 per cup, our industry still has a lot of opportunity to capture the total value contributed from everyone in the value chain.  I am committed to delivering insight to the guild in the areas where my experience at Caribou has been on growth.  The areas of people, safety, cost, and quality are of the utmost importance in our roasteries; and I look forward to bringing my experience in a growing industry to bear on these during these exciting times for our industry.

Thanks
