2016 U.S. Roaster Championship
April 14-17, 2016
The annual U.S. Roaster Championship (formerly the Roasters Choice Competition) is designed to highlight the art and craft of coffee roasting. Forty Roasters Guild members may submit two roasted coffees to represent and highlight their roasting skills. A green coffee sponsor will provide the green coffee for the First Round on Friday, and attendees will be able to blind sample the top twelve coffees and cast their vote. The second submission will be evaluated if the competitor advances to the Final Round, and this submission can be of any green coffee of their choosing. On Saturday, attendees will be able to blind sample the top six finalists and vote to help determine who will win the 2016 U.S. Roaster Championship. On Sunday, the competitors will be available to showcase their submissions, and the winner will be announced at the end of the day on Sunday. The roasted coffee that earns the top score, as determined by a panel of judges and attendee votes, will be named the winner of the 2016 U.S. Roaster Championship.
U.S. Roaster Championship - People's Choice Voting
We are bringing the vote to the people. On Friday, attendees will be able to blind sample the 12 Round 1 U.S. Roaster Championship competition coffees and cast a vote. On Saturday, attendees will be able to blind sample top 6 finalists and vote to help determine who will win the 2016 U.S. Roaster Championship competition!
